With software companies such as Izotope developing intelligent mix and mastering software, like Neutron and Ozone 8, surely it's only a matter of time as to when these professions become obsolete. I am of the opinion that this profession is on its way out and the next to follow will be mixing engineers and the tactile analog production techniques that go with it.
